The Adecco Group is pushing agentic AI into the daily grind of 27,000 employees across more than 40 countries. This massive rollout, announced September 15, follows successful pilots in the UK and France. The tool in question is Salesforce’s Agentforce Coworker, an enterprise assistant built on Anthropic’s Claude model. It isn’t just a chatbot; it integrates directly into recruitment workflows, allowing staff to find prospects, enrich data, and manage candidate screening from a single interface.
Why does this scale matter? Adecco claims the system taps into context from over 2.5 million agent-candidate interactions recorded since April 2025. That is a significant data moat. By centralizing access to organizational knowledge that previously lived in dozens of disparate tools, the group aims to reduce friction for recruiters. CEO Denis Machuel emphasized that the pilot saw strong adoption within days, suggesting the tool solves immediate pain points rather than adding bureaucratic overhead. The underlying license, signed in March, grants unlimited global access to Agentforce 360 through 2027.
The productivity claims are bold, though they require scrutiny. While the September statement lacked specific pilot metrics, Machuel told attendees at Dreamforce 2026 that recruiters saved 35% to 40% of their time using agentic AI. He also attributed 20,000 additional placements this year to improved conversational quality. These figures, reported by CX Today, have not been independently verified. Still, earlier reports from March cited a 15% time saving in the UK, indicating a consistent narrative of efficiency gains even if the exact magnitude varies by region.
This move signals a shift from experimental AI pilots to operational infrastructure. Adecco targets having more than half its revenues powered by agentic AI by the end of 2026. The deployment already covers ten countries representing 50% of business revenues. However, the lack of a clear timeline for the full 40-country rollout leaves some uncertainty. As competitors watch, the real test will be whether these time savings translate into sustained margin improvement or if the initial efficiency boost plateaus once the low-hanging fruit is picked.
