Claude Cowork AI arrives on mobile and web

Anthropic just took the leash off its Claude Cowork AI agent—starting Tuesday, you can use it on mobile and web, not just the desktop app. Max subscribers get first dibs; everyone else will see it in the coming weeks. The biggest upgrade: Cowork runs in the cloud now, so it can keep working on tasks even when you close your laptop or switch devices. It’ll ping your phone with notifications when it’s done something or needs your approval. Schedule a task, and it’ll execute even if none of your devices are online. The full desktop experience still has local file access, but the core shift here is persistent, cross-device agentic work. Oh, and doubled usage limits are extended through August 5th. Why it matters: This moves AI agents from a screen-locked tool to a background worker, inching us closer to an always-on digital assistant that doesn’t need your attention to get stuff done.
