FL Studio's AI chatbot now produces beats

Image Line’s Gopher AI, previously just a manual-reading bot in FL Studio, has leveled up. In the 2026 version, it can actually perform tasks like laying down beat patterns and adding effects. You can tell it to create a four-on-the-floor kick with snares, and it executes perfectly. However, it can’t handle automation, melodic note input, or specific plugin presets—so you’ll still need to pick your Rhodes patch manually. The update also includes a rebuilt Flex instrument with better presets and lower CPU use, plus cloud backups and an always-listening audio logger that captures the last 60 seconds of your master output. As always, it’s a free upgrade for existing users. Why it matters: This marks a shift from AI as a passive guide to an active production assistant in a major DAW, signaling how AI integration is becoming more hands-on in creative tools.
