OpenAI Launches Team-Based Workspace Agents

OpenAI just rolled out workspace agents in ChatGPT — a big upgrade from the old GPTs. These are built with Codex and designed for teams, not just individuals. They run in the cloud, so they keep working even after you log off. Companies can share agents across Slack or inside ChatGPT, improving them over time. Think of them as AI co-workers that handle repetitive workflows like qualifying leads, drafting emails, or generating weekly reports. They also follow company permissions, ask for approvals, and tap into shared data. OpenAI’s own sales team uses one to pull call notes, qualify leads, and draft follow-ups. To try it, click Agents in the sidebar and describe a routine task — ChatGPT will help you build a custom agent step-by-step. It’s available in ChatGPT’s Business, Enterprise, Edu, and Teachers plans for now. Old GPTs still work, but OpenAI says it’ll make converting them simple soon.
